After Ear Surgery or Otoplasty

After your ear surgery or otoplasty,  Dr. Johnson and his staff will review the post-operation instructions in detail.  After your surgery, the assistants will go over all instructions with the person that will be accompanying you home.
The incision are behind the ear and the sutras are not restorable.  They will need to be removed in 5-7 days.  The incision can be itchy.
The pressure wrap over the ears is placed to help support the ears.  Although we remove a portion of the cartilage the skin still has memory.  The pressure dressing is to retrain that skin so the ears will keep their new form.  Please do not remove this dressing after you ear surgery or otoplasty for 2 weeks.  You may remove it to shower and clean the site, but not for longer than 30 minutes.
Apply Polysporin® to incisions twice a day.
